The application survey will close at 23:59 on Tuesday 31st March 2026.

 

 

Eligibility: 
Mixed Foursomes scratch competition with the field limited to a maximum of 64 pairs. The tournament is open to mixed pairs of amateur golfers with a maximum combined, club domiciled, handicap index of 18 or less.


Schedule of Events: 
3 Days of competition golf over the country’s most famous and historic Championship Links. 

Friday 28th August:

Practice rounds (pm)

Complimentary drinks reception

Welcome supper

Saturday 29th August:

First round (am), Second round (pm), Consolation rounds (pm)

Tournament dinner and disco

Sunday 30th August:

Third round (am), Quarter finals (pm), Consolation rounds (am & pm)

Monday 31st August:

Semi finals (am), Final (pm), Consolation rounds (am) and Consolation final (pm)

Conditions & Fees

Tournament Conditions:
• Matches are played over 18 holes on a scratch basis, with sudden death being played if necessary.
• The Committee reserve the right to accept or refuse any entry without disclosing a reason.
• Competitors who withdraw after the draw has been made must notify the Secretary as soon as possible. Subject to RLGC approval, they may nominate their own replacements.

Entry Fees (for 2026):
• £300 per golfer (£600 per pair)
• £200 per golfer who is a member of RLGC.
• £200 per golfer who is aged 23 or under at the date of the tournament, and is in full-time education or training.

All golf, Friday evening drinks reception, Friday supper, Saturday dinner, light lunches on Saturday, Sunday and Monday are included within the entry fee.

  • Once the application survey closes on 31st March 2026, the 64 pairs with the lowest combined handicaps will be entered into the draw. 

 

  • The holders, together with the next 15 lowest combined-handicap pairs, will be seeded. 

 

  • Once the field is compiled, the Club will contact the successful pairs to make full payment for the tournament. 

 

  • A reserve list will be retained in case of withdrawals or cancellations, and those pairs who are unsuccessful in gaining entry at the first stage may be contacted closer to the event.
